Hello, I am Mrs. Julie Rodriguez and I am a first year school counselor. I am a proud first generation graduate and obtained my Masters of Education in School Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Bachelor's in History from Texas State University. I had the privilege to obtain my educational experience with elementary school students as a Special Education Teacher for three years.
My school counseling approach is integrative with respect to theorist from person centered therapy, psychosocial development therapy, mindfulness therapy, play therapy, applied behavior analysis, and cognitive behavior therapy.
I've always had a passion in helping and supporting others, especially children and adolescents. I look forward to working and supporting the Boone School Community and living by the motto to BE SAFE, BE KIND, and BE RESPONSIBLE.

Taming Test Anxiety
Tips and Techniques
1. Wear layers of clothing to stay comfortable.
2. Get Enough sleep - about 10-11 hours a night.
3 Do not eat sugary foods before a test.
It will make you feel more tired
and your brain will not work as fast.
4. Breath in through your nose to cool down and focus.
5. Stay in high + or low + emotion zones.
6. Look up and left when trying to remember notes.
7. Speak in an accent when studying to remember better.
8. Peppermint, lemon and cinnamon help your memory.
9. Take Breaks. Attention issually your age+2.
12 years old + 2 = 14 minute attention
11 years old + 2 = 13 minute attention
10 years old + 2 = 12 minute attention
9 years old + 2 = 11 minute attention

Hola, soy la Sra. Julie Rodríguez la nueva consejera escolar. Soy un orgulloso graduado de primera generación y obtuve mi Maestría en Educación en Consejería Escolar de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio. Tengo mi Licenciatura en Justicia Criminal y una Licenciatura en Historia de Texas State University.
